Why is this on rt-ax86upro AP but not on rt-ax88upro router?

What do you have set in WAN/DNS Server? You need a valid entry for an upstream DNS server.

How is the LAN IP configured on the AP? DHCP or static? If static, did you set a DNS server in the LAN setup?

There is no WAN section on an AP.
Ah...long day and I read it backwards . Must be something goofy for the AP to not get a time sync? Change the AP to a mesh node and there will be no worries!

I'm seeing the time zone is different from my local setting message on my AXE-16000 too. But the time zone is correct as is the date/time on the router.

I couldn't figure out the cause, so I basically ignore it.

Not sure about this specific model, but I had Asus routers not updating time in AP Mode when LAN port is used. In theory in AP Mode all ports are LAN, but test on the WAN port or reserve the IP on the main router and use DHCP. One of the two will solve the problem.

As I recall the default settings for DST dates were incorrect. Could your computer be correct but not the router?

I believe they fixed most zones some time ago.
