It seems that by backporting this commit by @themiron, @john9527 has provided a workaround in his fork so that my connection no longer hangs, but times out gracefully enough after 5 seconds and the page load finishes.

I’m not sure what the specific motivation was for this commit, but it seems to help with the iOS 13.4 issue.

And on Firefox its also "laggy" and no fast go to load and load but no show the https interface.
I Only use the naked asus-merlin last beta on AC88U only on local network.

Since iPadOS 13.5 (dev) I don't have these problems anymore.

:)
I was hopeful after updating my iPadOS to 13.5 today, but I still see the issue. I can either use Private Browsing or disable "Prevent Cross-Site Tracking" to let the GUI load normally. Otherwise it hangs until the 5 second maximum that themiron put into httpd.

I have had a similar issue on my Win10 laptop and using the latest Chrome.

When connecting to the router over https the login page is slow to load and occasionally the webUI will freak out - page goes white, cannot see navigation menu, etc. Connecting over http is much faster and I haven't encountered the UI display issue.

I'm using the self signed cert so will import it on the laptop and see what happens.
