Here is a thread about bad coding on TP-Link switches that I thought was interesting. I would not buy these switches.

 
It will depend on your usage scenario. I've had a TL-SG108e V3 for years and it's not caused me any issues.
Elsewhere I've helped with a set-up that uses two of these (not sure of the version) to run tagged LAN and WAN data over the same cable. I'm not aware of any issues that have arisen from doing this.
They're not great switches, but they're okay, cheap, and good enough!

So convince me of why I need to go out and buy a replacement!

Fixed long ago on all the recent versions. Netgear had the same bug/issue too. Not uncommon for many cheaper smart switches to use VLAN1 as native VLAN, but you can change that now.
