I did not have any problems with this Network Extender on my Buffalo router but it seems that the System and GPS are in a state of not working. Power and Wan are solid Blue working. If WAN is good then is this a problem with the Network Extender itself or something additional I may need to do on my AC66U? Port forward possibility? Maybe the DNS Server?
On my prior Buffalo Router with DD-WRT I had NAT Passthrough enabled for IPSec, PPTP and L2TP. So I enabled them on the Asus and now its working but I lost Network connection on the PC.
If I turn the VPN switch to off I have Internet working again. What other setting do I need to be able to re-enable VPN and have the internet working.
EDITED:
I was able to fix this by changing Redirect Internet Traffic from No to ALL Traffic. I tested the VPN and it does not impact the way it works. But I do not know if this makes anything less insecure as far as VPN goes etc?
If anyone else has found another way let me know. Port Forwarding some Ports listed by Verizon did not help. Enabling NAT Passthrough for IPSec is all that was needed, but since I had PPTP and L2TP also enabled on the Buffalo router I left them enabled as well unless I should disable those two?
EDITED AGAIN:
Spoke to soon. That did not fix my internet issue so I put back Redirect Network Traffic to No and turned VPN to No for now until I have another work around to use Nat Passthrough with VPN enabled.
Sorry Edited Again:
Finally found a workaround. Changed my DNS servers to Googles and working now. I am guessing the DNS servers I was using did not like VPN and NAT Passthrough at the same time!!
