Sounds like market AI hype to me as well. Guess we'll see what dongs review will say. The specs increase won't mean much in real world but we'll have to wait and see. Especially with how asus releases new routers that have buggy firmware for the first year.

While I love the white color, how does one set that up with a GT-BE98 Pro? I mean which do you use as primary and which as node? Hopefully they realize this and make it or a quad band version...

Is the ad/tracking blocker configurable and similar to pihole and local? That could actually be a selling point.

Other than that I'm skeptical of the first generation of a concept like this, as well as more complicated hardware with several chips (NPU?). 1GB RAM on the BE86/BE92 is starting to feel a bit underwhelming now though with 4GB on this one, even though speaking from experience it shouldn't be a problem for normal router tasks.

I was amused to see Asus pushing this as the first AI enhanced router. That is as someone who for the last year and a half has run a FriendlyElec SBC that can be used as a router and has 6 TOPs AI performance.

“If you want your device to use AFC, it is recommended to adjust the 6GHz bandwidth to 160MHz, 80MHz, or 40MHz to match the channels allowed by AFC.” That sucks

I know nothing about networks.

Is it possible to route WAN messages from a home router? I suppose it must be or the AI part of the router would be just a lie. But I have seen this sort of thing before, in dedicated gaming VPN's, and they are generally not at all popular with gamers. The problem is that gamers expect to see an improvement ALL THE TIME and as we all know, routing can only result in improvements some of the time.

I appreciate the low power consumption thing, but is it worth spending several years of paying for electricity on new hardware to save a few watts? Not sure that makes financial sense.

Nice that it's white, though.

Also, it seems to break from some long standing router apps that Asus have used, so we can expect lots of new apps and bugs. Also sounds like it probably won't be supported by Merlin.

Don't think I am all wise about this, my statements are more questions than they are answers!!
