Observed that if the nvram variable x_Setting is False (0), the client is dropped to Legacy mode in 2.4GHz.
Same is not seen if the x_Setting is set to True (1).
What is the purpose or what changes does nvram x_Setting="1" and nvram x_Setting="0" do?

Mine is set to 1. I think you'd just have to play around with settings in the GUI and see which one changes it to 0. Sounds like it is related to legacy mode obviously. What is the issue you're trying to fix or are you just trying to figure out what ever single NVRAM variable does? In many cases there are variables that only apply to certain routers but may be there in others, or left over from old firmware versions/drivers and just never cleaned out, etc.

It means your router has been configured and isn't at its factory default values.

Heh, that's much simpler than being related to 802.1X.

So if you set it to 0 it uses default values or something? - odd that it causes his 2.4ghz to go into legacy mode.

No. If you set it to 0, then your router may misbehave, because it will think that you haven`t configured it yet. It might trigger the QIS, have services fail to start as they think they haven`t been configured yet, etc...

In short: don`t touch it.
