I was just reading somewhere about several cities that have basically been given the remains of a city wide wifi network that the development partner has abandoned. I think it was Riverside and maybe Philadelphia.
I was wondering why it seems as though none of these plans have ever managed to work very well. Why have they not been successful? Was it too difficult to deploy and required too much equipment? Was the equipment just not reliable enough?
