XT8 Backhaul Speed Unstable

Hello all. I'm hoping people might be able to give me some pointers. I have the XT8 system with 2 nodes. My issues are with the remote node.

Most of the time when I look in connections I have a transmit and receive rate of between 1,400 to 1,600 Mbps. However, seemingly at random the receive rate will drop massively, normally to around 160Mbps but sometimes down to single figures. The transmit rate stays up at around 1,400-1,600 though so it's just the Receive rate that drops. It'll then sometimes go back up on it's own, or I will need to do a reconnect, optimise or restart the node.

I have them set up in the default mesh mode with the 3rd band acting as dedicated wireless backhaul. I have also updated to latest firmware. Other than changing SSID names and passwords etc I haven't played around with any of the advanced settings.

I'm not really sure where to start troubleshooting to try and see what the issue is. If it was always bad I would think it is location etc but the fact it has such a good connection most of the time and then will suddenly drop around 90% seems odd and not sure what it could be. Hoping you clever folks may have some pointers!

Did you have this issue with prior firmware? A lot of people are complaining about the latest iteration.

One of the issues with the last two firmware versions (43170 and 43169) is that it uses the 2.4ghz band for the backhaul, instead of 5ghz. There appear to be no such issues with the previous version from March, 42095.

Thanks for the replies. I've only had them a few weeks so not used previous firmware versions. I found some other threads on here suggesting to try setting the channel bandwidth to 80Mhz rather than the default "choose from any of them". I have had it set to that for a few days and I don't think it has done it since then, but as it was intermittent anyway I need to keep an eye on it for a few more days.
