Yes I know I like to tinker and try out, dont we all? That is exactly why this is a nuisance.
(and the "rebooting" when changing certain parameters, but that is another nuisance :) )

I am coming from a series of routers (Fritz box 7340 7360 7390) where this was not necessary.

It would be very nice, if you can enable log in from various places...

so far, I know telnet nvram set login_ip_str="" will solve the problem.

I also did a quick scan about web file with "login_ip_str" but I didn't have time to test yet.

perhaps, you can make those as empty string. I am not sure if there is any side effect yet, such as, not caching out anymore and so on.. so you may want to give it a try.
 
Solution that worked for me was in post #42994 from RMerlin.

Also added the following before commit:

nvram unset login_port
