Might be maybe not the right forum thread, and if so accept my applogies:

Since installing AdBlock this way I seem to get into problems with one site in Sweden:
www.expressen.se

When I look a bit closer I find something very small in the top left corner - is this a anti-ad-blocker or something? Any ideas how to solve this?

The ad blocker is working fine. It's just some text above the ad.

But i can use ad-blocker and trendmicro implement in fw ?

When i update fw in router i must then reinstall ad-blocker ?

And tell me how add address to block domain but for specific address ip from my local network ? Example for two computers my children... but for my computer not blocking

And when i use AD-Blocking i need disable protection implement in ASUS TrendMicro ?

You don't have to disable ASUS TrendMicro for the ad blocker to work.

To enable and disable the ad blocker on specific computers I don't this is implemented on this brilliant piece of software. But maybe this is something the creator could implement in his next version.

Right i think that should be show screen with info that ad-blocker block page.

Sorry, I misunderstood, so there is nothing on the screen, it's blank? Do you have a screenshot?

Capture.JPG

The blue "circle" is a marked "item" on the gray screen - one can not see that except if one select all on the screen...

I have my ad blocker setting to Large and I'm not getting the same results as you. Have you tried a different browser?

Have you installed the latest version of the ad-blocker? Have you updated the host?

Okay I now have some more information regarding expressen.se (all below is connected thru my Asus router with AB-solution active)
1) On Android PHONE it works in Chrome (no ad-block plus plugin), even with JavaScript disabled.
2a) On Android TABLET with Firefox (no ad-block plus plugin) with or without Java Script enabled, it will present a gray page only
2b) On Android TABLET with Chrome (no ad-block plus plugin) with or without Java Script enabled, it will present a gray page only
2c) On Android TABLET with Chrome (no ad-block plus plugin) but WITH data compression enabled thru Google servers (it will use Google DNS instead of AB-Solution), with or without Java Script enabled, it works 100%
3) Chrome on PC (no ad-block plus plugin), with Java Script enabled (Chrome Desktop does not support data compression like Android devices), Java Script enabled, it will present a gray page only
4) Firefox on PC (ad-block plus plugin installed but DISABLED), with or without Java Script enabled, it will present a gray page only

Do note: Expressen.se comes in three flavours: Mobile / Tablett / Desktop - that's why it can differ somewhat...

So in the end: It is not depending on Java Script, it seems to be depending on some host verification of some sort...

Does look a bit strange. With google DNS I think it just bypasses everything, it's like when I connect my VPN the ads no longer get blocked.

The best thing to do is follow the logfile "f" then choose option 2 and post the log to see what the ad blocker is blocking on expressen.se . I'll compare it with mine and see of there are any differences.

Also, one other thing just restart the router and see what happens.

Okay, done so far: Upgrade to AB-Solution 2.0.1, restarted but not cold-restart of router. No change what-so-ever.

What version windows are you using? I'm going to try windows 7 on VM with chrome just to see what happens.

BTW try option 2, that will only show you whats been blocked.

Not sure, but I think we've lost the thread here. A browser adblocker has nothing to do with this; neither does Javascript. For this adblocker solution to work, the DNS server on the LAN side has to go to the router, not Google DNS.

So, if a device requests an IP address, the request goes to the router. The router looks at the host file, and if it has an address like 0.0.0.0, it goes to itself and serves up a not-found. If it doesn't have an address, it forwards the request to its WAN DNS server.

If you've put anything else in for a LAN DNS server, the intial request goes there, and not the router, and this ad-blocker won't work.

Don't forget, when you are testing, that you have to do an ipconfig/flushdns for the device, and delete the cache on the browser, so that the device does a new lookup and doesn't serve up what it already has.

That said, it looks like your setup is working, because it is sending metrics.expressen.se to 0.0.0.0.
That's the only blocked site for expressen.se in my host file too.

Well here is the thing elorimer: I do not use any adblock in the browser in any of the cases, I only have the AB-Solution active. And to compare I tried the Google Data Compression (which I knows uses Googles own DNS servers and therefore never will be triggered by AB-Solution since it is bypassed).

So lost, well I don't know about that. I have an interesting issue with a site in Sweden that for the moment does not work due to DNS/HostFile blocking. And the only thing blocking is, tada, AB-Solution.

you could always whitelist the following

ads.rubiconproject.com
sync.richmetrics.com
bomcl.richmetrics.com
panel2.research-int.se
metrics.expressen.se
bn-01.adtomafusion.com
ads.rubiconproject.com

That's the latest log ads were blocked from expressen.se - then you can narrow it down. Everything on my side is working fine.
