Just upgraded to this. This is the best version in a long time, for my use. There is a spot in the apartment that always struggled and the only way to maintain a wifi connection is on 2.4 and even that eventually slows and drops out. Posting from there right now on 2.4 and the performance is top-notch, as though I'm not in the problematic spot. I'm fearful of upgrading to future versions if this version proves itself.

Merlin when you merge source code from firmware for RT-AC3200 version 3.0.0.4.378.7554 ??

Just installed on my ac68u and it went fine. It had been a while so there were lots of changes which I like. I did notice the txRate and rxRate are out to lunch on the global screens though. It shows hundreds of mbits up and down, although when you look at wired/wireless separately they are correct.

Thanks Merlin

Probably 5 minutes later than I would have if I hadn't had to stop whatever I was doing to read, and answer that question.

See the note on that webpage about CTF compatibility issues.

I also have this problem

Hi, I hope this is the right thread to ask this question so here it goes. I currently have an RT-N66R running the merlin firmware version 378.51, and wonderfully I might add. I just purchased a RT-AC87R and intend on installing the merlin firmware 378.55. My question is to save on manual configuration time on the RT-AC87R, can I by chance use the saved configuration file from the RT-N66R to configure the settings that are the same on the RT-AC87R? Or do I need to manually set up and configure the new AC87R? Thanks in advance for any advice that can be offered in this instance.

anybody can tell me is this dangerous behavior ?
Code:
Jul 28 12:16:56 pptpd[19739]: MGR: initial packet length 18245 outside (0 - 220)

No, configuration is quite different between the two models. Do not restore config files to a different router.

Someone tried to connect to your router using PPTP VPN and failed.
You can see the IP addresses of the scumbags too "Client 42..." & "Client 183..."

Hi,

I will just say that after about 8 months of "slow" ( 350 Mbit DL ) throughput for my 1 Gbit fiber line and a couple of complaining threads here to now after an update with the 378.55 firmware on a Asus-rt87u I get around 800 Mbit DL.

Thank Merlin!

Regards,
Christian

Hmmm i dont understand...

The less time RMerlin answers questions that don't need to be asked (search and 'it will be done when it is done'), the sooner we'll have it.

Hmmm i dont understand...
Other people in the forum are quite knowledgeable too, so aks them instead of asking newbie questions to RMerlin...

And RMerlin should not waste his time on answering those and focus on the next beta. o_O

No need to post new versions here for RMerlin's benefit. He knows about them (and the changes to expect) far sooner than we do.

For others, it might be helpful to start a new thread if, after testing the latest offering yourself, seems to improve in one way or another.

And Asus released again new Version3.0.0.4.378.7838 for RT-AC3200. In two latest firmware for this model i more changes and fixes....

Does not make sense, too many small differences. Have taken to paging through screens on an old Merlin router, speaking the settings that have been customized into the voice recorder on my phone, then playing those back as am updating a new router.

I find screen shots are much more efficient. A dozen or so covers the whole GUI for most people and also shows the context of the settings too. A video playing (depending on the quality, I guess) and / or audio only would make me very annoyed very quickly.

But whatever works. :)

I would ask people to keep this thread on-topic to changes or feedback SPECIFIC to this new release. General support requests will be either mover to another thread, deleted, or just ignored, depending on my mood at the time I see them. :) Past release threads always went far too long as every one started using these threads for general requests, leaving them lost in the flood of posts. Separate posts allows people to more easily keep track of them, including future forum visitors looking for answers to specific questions.

I just switched from RT-N66R to RT-AC87U using this latest firmware 378.55. I have two drives attached to the router and have spindown enabled. For some unknown reason only one drive (usb3.0) spins down and the in 2.0 doest. Any idea why?
