Hi all, first post. Searched for my topic but didn't find an answer.

Trying to figure out if I should buy the DNS-323 or the Synology 210J. I am looking for the following:
  • RAID 1 device
  • supports 2 TB
  • accessible via internet
  • iTunes compatible
  • supports ethernet
  • Not swappable not necessary.
  • Time Machine compatible would be awesome
  • Needs to support both windows and Apple
This is for a small home network. I am a techie but don't really want something I am going to have to spend a lot of time "fixing", I just want it to work. I think both will probably work for my needs but what is the better choice? I have been researching the net for weeks, trying to figure this out. Read forums and reviews and the two NAS's seem to be about even. The 210J seems to operate faster over wireless from the reviews I have read.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks very much!

DNS-323 is a pretty dated design at this point, but it's cheap.
I'd go for the DS210J.

Thanks for the info. I was looking at the DNS-323 because it seems that there is a large support community.

Is the 209 that much better than the 210? Worth the $90 extra bucks?

Any other solutions around the $200 - $300 price range that I should check out?

Thanks in advance for the help!
