    Linksys wrt54gl

LOL. I found the shipping invoice in gmail. I bought it in May of 2006. Takes a licking, keeps on ticking.

    Linksys wrt54gl

I was going to toss this into the eWaste pile but first I thought I would see if anyone wants it for their museum. This was a hand-me down I had given to a family member that recently upgraded. If anyone is interested I can send it for the cost of shipping,

Cell Phone tethered to router as a backup "WAN" link

Thank you. I'll give this a try. I have an AC68U and I did not even know it was there or supported USB WAN or had a failover setting.

Cell Phone tethered to router as a backup "WAN" link

Apologies if this has been covered, I might be searching for the wrong thing. I'm looking for some redundancy in case my ISP's network is down and was wondering if I could leverage a spare iphone in a tethered configuration. I'm not sure how I might cobble this in to have a secondary backup...

Comcast XB6 Wireless Gateway CGM4140COM initial impression

I stopped by their retail store today and listened to another new unit. Same scratchy sound. The Rep said was aware of issues. After some discussion he suggested buying my own which is the path I'll be taking. I guess my take away is avoid the XB6 hardware.

Comcast XB6 Wireless Gateway CGM4140COM initial impression

Comcast updated my modem to an "XB6" CGM4140COM and I thought I would share initial "consumer" type impressions. It runs in bridge mode, no WiFi enabled ( radios disabled), and have their voice package. Runs hot, and has a noisy little fan and not easily wall mounted. Installed yesterday and...

Physically disabling radios in comcast/xfinity Cisco Model DPC3941T

Comcast replaced the Modem ( voice gateway ) with a CGM4140COM which they call an XB6 Wireless Gateway It took a few transfers but finally someone in tier 2 or tier 3 that actually understood the term radio was able to remotely disable the wifi so it is not transmitting. I'm going to shop...

Physically disabling radios in comcast/xfinity Cisco Model DPC3941T

I have a 200 GB package with voice. It is permitted, but has yet to be practical. I'll look into it again. I've stayed with their hardware because their network in my neighborhood has been unstable and this helps with the finger pointing. Comcast finally replaced or repaired the upstream...

johns fork or ? for Asus RT-N66U

I have one of my N66Us running merlin at my Mom's, and I wasn't really paying attention that it is no longer supported by Merlin. What would "the furniture" recommend as a path to keep this router in service? She only uses wired. The wifi is infrequently used by family members so the hardware...

Physically disabling radios in comcast/xfinity Cisco Model DPC3941T

is there a way to physically disable the radios in a Cisco Model : PC3941T ? I'd prefer it not be permanent, but I might go there. I have been chasing a wifi performance issue that cropped up recently, and come to find that again, comcast has enabled xfinitywifi on my comcast supplied...

ASUS RT-N66U Cisco AnyConnect Internet Access Issues

Glad you got it sorted. Late to this thread, but for what it is worth, I had no issues with Cisco AnyConnect on windoze or MacOSX on my RT-N66U running merlin.
