Just upgraded my RT-BE58 Go to alpha2 and performed a "Factory default Restore". The issue that I reported on Jan 23 in post #40 still exist. If the router is in "Public WiFi Mode (WISP)" mode, and you go to (Administration -> System): the options "Enable local NTP server" and "Intercept NTP client requests" are not available. They are available if the router is in "Wireless router mode (Default)".

Also, if the router is in either Router or WISP mode, the check to update "Trend Micro: Signature version" (Administration -> Firmware Upgrade -> Firmware Version) fails. It does work in the OEM version for this router.

Most likely this is intentional in order to force time to be synced with source that you are connecting to...

I'm able to successfully check for an updated Trend Micro: Signature version.

There should be log files in the /tmp/ directory starting with "sig". See if they exist and any useful info in there.

I too can update the Trend Micro: Signature version on my AX86U Pro and BE92U. But, not on my BE58 Go.

The file /tmp/sig-upgrade.log does not exist on the BE58 Go. But, it does exist on the AX86U Pro & BE92U.

In an attempt to obtain more information, I loaded the prior version (3006.102.6) and configured the RT-BE58 Go in "Public WiFi Mode (WISP)" mode. Both versions (3006.102.6 & 3006.102.7-alpha2) have the same problems. And, I do not experience these problems in either of my other two routers: AX86U Pro & BE92U. Listeded below are some information that I obtained that might shed some light.

When I perform a Signature Check. The following two messages appear:
Signature checking ...
Signature is updating ...
But the version does not change, it stays at 1.1.00

I cleared the System Log just before the “check” and viewed it just after.
Default message log level: notice
Log only messages more urgent than: debug
The message that was in the System Log window:
Feb 2 18:52:36 rc_service: httpd 3349:notify_rc start_sig_check

Does anyone have any more insight? Thank you.

I suppose it makes sense if AiProtection, QoS, or Traffic Analyzer are not enabled on a travel router. New frontier here.

Tried to install and run the ControlD Command Line Daemon (https://docs.controld.com/docs/ctrld). The script appears to install properly. When I try and start the ctrld service, I get a "ctrld: not found" error. I reverted to 102.6 firmware and everything works as expected.

Fixed by Merlin:

Dirty update to 3006_102.7_alpha2 yesterday morning (2 Feb 26) and reset my DNSSEC to "ON" and my DNS provider to Quad9.
As of this morning (3 Feb 26) I am no longer seeing the DNSSEC errors filling up my log.
YEA!!
Many thanks to @RMerlin and his colleagues for their hard work. Also thanks to dave14305 for his very helpful link to the Verisign DNSSEC Debugger Site

I confirm, except one genuine (address not OK).

AiProtection is enabled and in this router only "Router Security Assessment" and "Two-Way IPS" are supported. It is missing "Malicious Sites Blocking" and "Infected Device Prevention and Blocking". In the EOM version of the EB58_Go's firmware, the updating of Trend Micro Signature does work.

Dirty upgrade from Alpha 1 to Alpha 2 on AX86u Pro. Everything working great but the professional wireless setting for Disable 11b will not check to on. Shows unchecked.

Dirty upgrade from Alpha 1 on BE96u, other than the GUI lagging a little, again (but not as bad as prior versions, or stock FW). Still can't enable a Guest network (regardless of profile used to create it) without clobbering DHCP renewal but Asus confirmed they do know about it and confirmed it's not my config, but known bugs. Work in Progress 🤷‍♂️

That seems to have been the case for a while, at least for me.
