Thanks, I looked a bit but as I said it's a lot to read about this but not easy when you have dyslexia, but it seems that it's wpa3 that makes me get the wrong message, yes I don't need wpa2 so to speak if I were to run wpa2 and wpa3 together, the message is normal again and no spam in the log at all

will that likely find its way into your 3.0.0.4.388-5 final release?
No. There will be no new GPL merged in 3004.388.5.

- CHANGED: Enable fast-io for OpenVPN servers using UDP, which
will speed up performance on some models.
...

@RMerlin, I've had fast-io added as a Custom Configuration command for many years now. Was it not being invoked for some reason?

ok, so fast-io does work when called from the Custom Configuration?
It did, but it makes no sense in having it a second time now that the firmware already includes it by default.

So, in this custom script below, used for nordvpn vpn, the line about fast-io, is unnecessary going foward?

remote-random
resolv-retry infinite
remote-cert-tls server
ping 15
ping-restart 0
ping-timer-rem
persist-key
persist-tun
reneg-sec 0
fast-io
disable-occ
mute-replay-warnings
auth-nocache
sndbuf 524288
rcvbuf 524288
push "sndbuf 524288"
push "rcvbuf 524288"
pull-filter ignore "auth-token"
pull-filter ignore "ifconfig-ipv6"
pull-filter ignore "route-ipv6"
explicit-exit-notify 3
tun-mtu 1500
tun-mtu-extra 32
mssfix 1450

Your version notes state that fast-io is now enabled by default for "OpenVPN servers". Do you really mean its only enabled by default when operating in server mode, or is fast-io enabled by default when acting either as server or client? Your response to @kuki68ster 's question appears to confirm that fast-io is enabled by default in client mode, but just want to double-check.

One other question for you regarding OVPN 2.6 - Is it possible to compile the OVPN DCO kernel module to run on our routers to allow DCO support, and if yes, are doing that? Or planning to do it?

Unfortunately not. DCO requires a kernel >5.2

Right now, on Nov 12th,, it's only been done for server mode because that's the only scenario I had time to test. The goal is to have it enabled for client mode as well eventually, after I have found time to test it.

This is a work-in-progress snapshot, nothing is even close to being final in these test builds.

You guys are simply overthinking it...

Just trying to assess the plan.

Generally, no you do not need to do a factory reset in that instance. See the Asus-Merlin Wiki entry on installation if you have more questions about installing the firmware:

I did a "dirty" upgrade from 388.4 to this alpha and everything is working as expected.
