Yes. It needed a complete power down though. Not just a reboot.

I did a "dirty" flash from 384.6 with not a single problem. I am currently on 384.7 alpha2. All were done "dirty"

I started clean on 384.7. Last two alpha builds have been flashed right over without issue.

Maybe try an IP address rather than an URL?

In my case, two shiney reboots actually did the job quite well too

Yes. The alpha firmware is only for testing purposes.

Alpha builds are very early work-in-progress. A lot of changes are still under work before the 384.7 final release (and even before the first beta release).
