Fix #3: Don't Connect Draft 11n and 11b/g clients to the same router

Is there any way to reduce this effect, or any specific router that has less speed reduction by this? Would for example a 3-stream router handle it better than a 2-stream?

Not really. The main cause of the problem is that 11b and g are slower than N. So they require more air time when it is their turn to transmit or receive. This is what causes the throughput hit.

Do I understand you correctly that it's only the actual use of b/g that slows down the network. And that simply having the router in b/g compatibility mode for the occational guest with b/g device or such wouldn't affect performance except for when said guest was using the network?
