ASUS Ac68u slow booting!

Just got the ASUS AC68u I noticed it booting slower than my old asus N66u. the ac68u takes around 2 min to boot , the n66u was booting in 30 sec. is it normal for the AC68u to take that long to boot or this one I have is defect?

No.

Newer routers can take longer to boot because they have many more services than they used to have back in 2012.

The RT-AC87 has two separate firmware to load.

The RT-AC3200 is a pure Broadcom solution. The RT-AC87U is Asus's only hybrid model.
