No, that doesn't change anything, you are copying the old settings then recopying them back. The whole point of this factory reset is to start out new with the new feature set.
Which presumably means you also need to factory-reset all of your AIMesh client nodes and join them back in?

If you mean AiMesh nodes like other ASUS routers and RPs the easiest way is to go to the Management (tab) and Remove each one one by one until all are gone. Then following factory reset add them back one by one. It is easier than trying to hold the WPS flipping on the power, waiting for the power light to turn off, then flipping off and on power switch on each node...

Hi all, I got BE92U with merlin software from 1 month everything seems working stable, but i got question about speed.

PC ( ethernet 1Gbps ) - got full speed from speedtest.net 900/300 Mbps
but my mobile devices ( wifi ) got only a half of that speed.

S25 ultra ( wifi7 mlo ) - 500/300
other phones ( wifi6 ) - 450/300
notebooks are even slower ( wifi6 ) - 350/300

meanwhile when i run iperf3 test from PC to s25ultra i got full 1gbps speed.
iperf3 test from notebook (wifi6 ) to s25u ( wifi7 ) i got over 1,5Bbps.

So why speedtest.net from mobile devices are so slow? there is potential any problem?
I got MLO turn on, Qos off and i using Diverion.

Thx for any advices

Try turning MLO off.

I try turning off MLO fronthaul for clients and wifi 7 on network tab, and still the same speeds. My S25U got wifi 6E connection and max speed test is 450/300mbps

That is strange that you can max your connection over wired, but cannot over your WiFi 6E and 7 devices. While you are trying to troubleshoot, do not use MLO, as was mentioned. Connect a couple of your fastest wireless devices to the 6Ghz band, leaving WiFi 7 enabled on each band on the router. Make sure the wireless devices are close to the router, and then reset your internet speed with the speedtest.net app (not mobile browser). If still an issue, disable QoS if enabled, reboot router and try again. Make sure your 6Ghz channel is set to auto on channels and 20/40/80/160/320 Mhz is selected so your wireless devices can negotiate at the fastest speed. If still a problem, DL Ubiquiti WiFiman app, open app, hit signal at bottom and tell us what the PHY Speed (Mbps) is (the negotiated speed).

Have you messed with any of the more advanced settings? If so, you may want to ensure that the firmware is up to date, reset the route to factory defaults, re-setup your wireless networks, but do not change any settings and leave all the Asus features off, no MLO, 3 separate networks for 2.4, 5 and 6Ghz, all with WiFi 7 enabled, then test again.

With an S23 with wifi 6e close to the router, in the WiFiman app, I am at 2161/1921 Mbps negotiated speed and can max my 500/500 connection, as I get 570/540Mbps. I run my BE92U with no MLO, all Asus features disabled like Ai Mesh, Ai Protection, QoS, Traffic Analyzer all off.

on S25U i got PHY speed over 4xxx/24xx and 320mhz. still my speedtest.net app is limited to 500.
I try used iperf3 for testing wifi limit and when i try runing server on notebook ( wifi 6 ) and reciver on S25U i got speed 1,5gbps so wifi speed its ok, but my internet speed over wifi is limited to 500Mbps ( on ethernet its going full speed 900Mbps )

I was dont changing any advanced settings, only got newest merlin software and enabled diversion.
everything is off Ai Mesh, Ai Protection, QoS, Traffic Analyzer
Ofcourse all the test is close to the router.

Edit
All my mobile devices got this slow internet over wifi problem.
I try other test than speedtest.net / app all the same limited speed.

I've not seen anyone else on this thread with the Merlin firmware. So, that could very well be doing it. Unfortunately, you won't know until you roll it back to the newest Asus FW, reconfigure it and test.

I had the latest Merlin Firmware on my unit and i have an old RT-AC66U B1 with latest stock firmware on my 1º floor, the uplink is via 5ghz wifi (impossible to do an ethernet uplink) was slower on Merlin and the internet speed was also lower. With Merlin on the i mesh unit on the same spot, same wifi channel i had at most 150mbs of internet speed (my internet speed is 500 mbs) and now with latest stock firmware i have about 220/250 mbs wich i think is not bad for 12 year old hardware. Still trying to figure out if i should replace the RT-AC66U B1 with the RP-BE58, my budget is very limited...

220/250 should be fine for a couple ordinary clients and a bunch of IOTs. Not blazing fast, but good enough.
The radio is the limiting factor in the AC66UB1. But if your clients don't need a newer radio to talk with ( especially IOT devices), no issue.

I gave up testing with phone/tablets. Since its random every time you test. Its time and server issue than router or device issue. I have S25U, Tab S8, Tab S10U, Xiaomi 12T Pro. I get different max speed depends on what time and server I choose to test with. If I choose a specific server to test with and get 800 down and choose another server and then get 300 down only. Most of the time I only get max 300-500 down. So I stopped caring about testing the speed on devices I have.
