Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.10 is now available

Hi, dirty upgraded from 388.9_2 my RT-AX88U a few hours ago. Nothing to report. My AiMesh node as well as all my devices seem like working perfectly. I'd like to mention that my admin password did NOT adhere to the 'new rules', and I did not change it,.. so the new rules are not enforced immediately, but probably only and when you attempt to change it. The only preventive thing I did BEFORE upgrading is saving my configuration and rebooting the router once.

So, again many thanks Merlin and contributing team for what is an outstanding and continued work!

Dirty upgrade to my AX86U mesh router and 2 x AX86U nodes two days ago and all is working fine. Thanks !

Can someone please tell if the new password requirements are enforced immediately or only when the pw is next changed?

Thanks!

Next password change.

Next password change.
So if I don't change a wifi password, I can just keep using my current one? I've been using a 9-character password that otherwise meets the upper, lower, special, number requirements and I don't want to have to go back to change all my home automation stuff.

This is login password, not WiFi passwords.

Uhm RT-AX86U here with HA and AsusRouter Integration (the official one) as well.
After the update I can't login to the router or even if I somehow manage to login, it will kick me out and make the webinterface unavailable after a few clicks.

I can't update my Ax88u from version 388.9_2. Whenever I try to update the router, it's the same version above. I've already made several attempts, without WAN connected, without the node , only lan, without any connected equipment, I've already given hard reset, I tried Chrome, edge and nothing. Do you know if there is another way?
Good friend,
The same thing happens to me with an rt-ax86s
Greetings

So I should change from https only to http? But I want to keep https for security reasons.

Besides, how should I change that if I can't login...

Alright so disconnect HomeAssistant from the router (disable Asus integration) makes login work again.

It seems only one connection will work in https mode or "both" mode: either HomeAssistant or the Webinterface login.

For now I keep the HomeAssistant Integration enabled but know that I can't log into the router via Webinterface.

I have changed the integration to https://asusrouter.vaskivskyi.com/, default settings.

With the router on HTTPS I’m now able to use HA and login the router at the same time. Also the app worked again.

RT-AX86S having trouble doing the update, tried running through merlinau as well and acted really odd. Through webui it would run through the full process and then still be on the original fw. Merlinau would start the process then freeze and cause the router to reboot over and over.

RT AX-86U

Unable to upgrade from 3004.388.9_2 to 3004.388.10. After the firmware update process completed, it still stays in 3004.388.9_2 instead of 3004.388.10.

I have tried downloaded the 3004.388.10 file from 2 different sources - Sourceforge and OneDrive:

Have tried in incognito mode, also shutdown the Aimesh node, and disable JFFS custom scripts. All the same.

I only have YazDHCP 1.0.10 installed as add-on.

Just an update:

I finally managed to update to 3004.388.10 by using Asus Firmware Restoration Utility.

Need to set LAN IP to 192.168.1.10 and subnet mask 255.255.255.0. Then upload the firmware file with Asus Firmware Restoration Utility downloaded from Asus support website. (It is advisable to pull out all the LAN, WAN and USB cables from the router, left only a single LAN cable connecting LAN port 1 to the computer running this Restoration Utility)

After the upload, the router will restart itself, and after restart, the firmware successfully changed to 3004.388.10. All the existing settings are still remain, same effect as dirty upgrade with webui.

After the update, I have done a factory reset, and manually set back all the settings. So far, everything is running OK.

As some other users also reported unable to update with webui, perhaps can try this method to update the firmware.
