What's new

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.7 Beta is now available

Works just fine on my rt-be92u and my father's router rt-be92u as we have similar models, we mostly now use more 6 ghz most of the time, so 2.4 and 5 ghz we barely use more on our routers

Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.7 Beta 1 is now available for supported models. The focus of this release is the removal of AiCloud (for security reasons), components upgrade, and a GPL update for the GT-BE19000AI (as its initial release was based on a fairly early GPL version).

Changes since 3006.102.6:

Code:
3006.102.7 (xx-xxx-2026)
  - NOTE: AiCloud has been removed from Asuswrt-Merlin due
to its poor security track record. This also includes
cloud syncing features such as Asuswebstorage or
Dropbox syncing with USB folder. Use a VPN if you
need secure remote access to your data.

  - UPDATED: Merged GPL 102_40399 (GT-BE19000AI only)
  - UPDATED: OpenVPN to 2.6.19.
  - UPDATED: Dropbear to 2025.89.
  - UPDATED: nettle to 3.10.2.
  - UPDATED: dnsmasq to 2.93-test2 (includes a couple of DNSSEC
             fixes over 2.92)
  - UPDATED: openssl-3.0 to 3.0.19 (GT-BE19000AI only)
  - UPDATED: tor to 0.4.8.22.
  - CHANGED: Added new 2024 DNSSEC trust anchor, which will
start being used in October 2026.
  - FIXED: IPv6 blocking of DoT servers (dave14305)
  - FIXED: Multiple minor CVE for OpenSSL 1.1: CVE-2025-68160,
           CVE-2025-69418, CVE-2025-69419, CVE-2025-69420,
           CVE-2025-69421, CVE-2026-22795 and CVE-2026-22796
           (backports by RSDNTWK)
  - FIXED: Missing UPnP settings on models with multiservice
           WAN support.
  - FIXED: ntpd options missing when operating in WISP mode.
  - REMOVED: AiCloud support, due to security reasons.

Please keep discussions on this specific beta release.

I would like to highlight the latest observation, which is persistent in the beta version, which was observed since

I want to highlight my observation, which is persistent in the current beta RT-BE92U_3006_102.7_beta1 version too.

If I installed RT-BE92U_3006_102.4_0, all LAN ports work correctly without any errors. 🟢
If I upgrade to RT-BE92U_3006_102.5_0, RT-BE92U_3006_102.6_0, or RT-BE92U_3006_102.7_beta1, all LAN ports exhibit abnormal behavior. 🔴

I have reiterated the following version check of the official release
1. ASUS RT-BE92U Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_38962 release date 2025/08/27 🟢
2. ASUS RT-BE92U Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_38979 release date 2025/10/31 🟢
3. ASUS RT-BE92U Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_38980 release date 2025/11/18 🟢

No, the Guest network doesn't cause any issues in my environment.
It might be worth checking RT-BE92U_3006_102.4_0 to RT-BE92U_3006_102.5_0 to determine the impact on LAN communication.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could address part of the new release.

Not possible, this release does not contain new GPL code, and with the Chinese New Year holiday coming, no new GPL will be available for weeks, which is why this release will largely focus on updating other components. All I can do is double check that the SDK components for the RT-BE92U were fully merged with the last GPL merge (that model uses different components, and has a 32-bit kernel).

@ashishrc - I would try testing with something other than the Google Nest setup. I've got a laptop connected directly to the LAN ports and it run the Speedtest app on it and it always maxes out the network connection regardless of firmware version. I would also suggest trying a different network cable.

My issues with the RT-BE92U are all wireless related to some weird hostapd authentication issues that isn't playing friendly with this release.
