Hi there,
This is my first post here on this great forum. First, I want to
thank you Merlin, for all great work you've done for this routers. For me, your work and this great community was a strong reason to choose and buy Asus RT-N66U (1 year ago). Also, based on this consideration i've recommended Merlin supported Asus routers to friends.
On topic: yesterday, i have upgraded my RT-N66U from 37
4.43 to 376.45. Upgrade went smooth, i have also cleared nvram settings and manually setup my network from scratch (wireless setup, dhcp reservations, port forwarding rules, openvpn, etc). Everything is working great, wireless range and performance seems to be the same. Wireless and wired download tests show pretty much same numbers. For me, the security fixes on openssl are more important than anything. This router is my gateway for internet, so it must be secure before anything else.
I want to mention that I do not use any of the USB apps of this router (i have a nas for this), so for people reading this post with similar network setup, my advice is to go ahead and upgrade without any worries
