Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 Beta is now available

Works fine with beta 2 and ax88u coming from 384.19, but I just figured out that skynet is offline.
When I try to run "firewall" I get this. I cant recognise the usb that was there before?

Last week I purchased an AC86U router so I could use my two AC66u-B1 routers as aimesh-nodes. First I installed the lastest Merlin firmware on all of them. That resultated in a bootloop and the only way out was to revert back. So i reverted al the routers back to the latest stock firmware of ASUS and bind the AC66 agian as an Aimeshnode. The router is very buggy, if i only do a restart it boots several times and i'm afraid to get again in bootloop. Also the protocol 0800 is buggy message is in my log. My configuration is an Ziggo Modem bridged to AC86U -> an TP link switch and two AC66u B1 nodes. I hope anyone van tell me the trick and i can solve this because before the AC66U was my router and rock stable!

I have an issue with 5Ghz wifi in Beta 2.
If I choose to Enable 160 Mhz and Control Channel: Auto, the channel 100 is on and all seems to be working. However, if I set the channel 100 manually, 5Ghz is off and doesn't present in Air. The same problem with other manually set up channels, 112, 116 etc.

It can take several minuts to get 5Ghz up and working.

I've seen "internet disconnected" four times, requiring router reboot to restore internet connection (Motorola modem did not need rebooting): happened three times after hitting Apply settings in NordVPNManager to apply a second VPN client; once during the night for reasons unknown.

Yesterday I flashed 386.1 Beta 2 onto a new RT-AX86U, followed by a factory reset and manual settings - duplicating an existing RT-AC66U_B1 on Merlin 384.18: e.g.: VPN server and two VPN clients, FlexQos, USB drive, Skynet, Diversion, NordVPNManager.

Example in the log at 07:11:00 where apply NordVPNManager settings leads to internet disconnected.

UPDATE: just saw on another thread this may be related to running two VPN clients - I'll remove one client and try that, e.g.:

Internet Disconnected when VPN turns on - 386.1 Beta 2

I was trying to configure my Torguard VPN which eventually worked by uploading .ovpn via their site But as soon as it satisficed that connection, I got internet disconnected I had to reboot,. I touch the VPN side and it goes internet disconnected I tried using default DNS and tried google one...

Saw the known issue not to use the first guest network with 386.1 Beta 2. Still I'd like to run two guest networks: on the second and third guest network slots. The third guest network shows "Default setting by Alexa/IFTTT". Anyone know what this means? Trying to maintain an Alexa free household here (I hope my new AX-86U does not have a microphone

To have no problems with 160MHz BW, I manually set the channel to 36 and all works fine.

lol. If you connect the router to Alexa (alexa based device such as echo, etc) and then tell the smart speaker "turn on guest wifi" or "turn off guest wifi", it will target the third one.

It's out of necessity, not by choice. Asus has been working on that model's GPL for almost two weeks now, and I didn't want to delay any longer just for that model. Beside, those components are still compatible with the newer GPL code in use, and didn't require any special kludge or separate code branching.

A rare occurrence...a firmware from @RMerlin that is ahead of the Beta releases from Asus. Nice, can't wait to try it out.

Edit: It's looking like we might (nearly?) get to a final 386.1 release close to the end of this year, as I joked/asked of @RMerlin way back in July when the first 386 RC2 Beta appeared over on the "official" side of the forum.

Additional logs from syslog - seems to be a kernel crash? This is beta 3 on AX-86U- Wonder if these failed status messages and crash are related to OPenVPN server?
