I have VirginMedia 240 Mbps connection + NetGear WNDR 4500 V1 (N900) WiFi router. I am not getting good WiFi signsls in upstairs rooms.

May I know what is the best Custom Firmware for NetGear WNDR 4500 V1? I tried DD-WRT (https://dd-wrt.com/support/router-database/?model=WNDR4500_v1). But it has unfixed bugs. Any other firmware that you suggest? If yes, links please.

Also what is the best WiFi extender for this router?

Appreciate any help...

That is a very old router, great that it is still working at some capacity, but any new entry-level router will surpass it easily. Mostly likely without needing a WiFi extender too, a purchase that I rarely, if ever, recommend.

The RT-AC66U B1 is the first, relatively inexpensive solution that comes to mind.

Thanks.

Any custom firmware other than DD-WRT available for this router?

Also what is the best WiFi extender for this router?

I have ordered a AC 1200 wifi extender. Would be using my Netgear for at 1 more year.

Any help regarding custom firmware for Netgear WNDR 4500 v1, other than DD-WRT?
