I wonder if my device has developed a fault. I'll try this new firmware and, failing that, go back to the stock firmware the router came with to check if it's still happening. I'll also look at some active cooling, perhaps the 5GHz ends up overheating or something (is it possible to monitor temperatures with these firmwares?).

So far I've found a GUI issue when I select "AiCloud" Tab, it shows "USB Application" as selected instead, so I need to go to another tab in order to access "USB Application" one.
Well, and WPS issue is still present

Hi Sentinelxdx,

They are working on it.

Hi Sentinelxdx,

They are working on it.
In _8258 is not fixed either. I already reported it too.
Does _8248 comes with Feedback tab?

So, the port teaming also doesn't work yet? Damn, i just ordered a ds215+ NAS

It's probably coming however, I see some code related to it was added in a recent GPL release.

Going to try in a few days to see if it keeps disconnecting on 5ghz. Did anyone stop disconnecting after upgrading?

Regarding the basic stability of the 5GHz band (meaning without MU-MIMO and beamforming): I have to say that there are no hardware issues which should prevent a flawless function. As far as I was able to observe this over all these months, the connection issues are restricted to mobile devices and related devices (quasi-embedded, smart, etc. devices and those based on mobile OS'es, like set top boxes).

All of my regular computers which include Windows boxes with 5GHz and ARM Chromebook, also with 5GHz, are rock solid, with no connection drops at all. When it comes to the Windows machine e.g. I know that the connection is flawlessly perfect, as I need to use that for work - so what I'm getting is a 100% uninterrupted connection, via VPN over a whole 8 or 9hr work day - otherwise I'd see any connection drops instantly in the VPN client's logs and notifications.

So, as far as I know those problems are mostly related to mobile device's adapter's going into sleep mode while being connected to the RT-AC87, otherwise the non-Beamforming 5GHz is already quite stable for non-Apple users.
i am interested in your opinion, because I have been plagued by 5G issue. have you tried to make regular computer into sleep, if there will be connectivity issue? about 87u's 5G issue, i even have been suspected to be hardware flaw, rather than firmware issue. but I saw something in this forum seem to can overthrow my doubt, so confused......
at present, it seems that most of the complaints about the 5G issue is from apple device users. i was thinking, maybe this problem can not be solved by asus/quantenna, maybe they need apple's help, but this seems ridiculous.

Any of you tested the VPN client section using OpenVPN and .ovpn configuration files? I cannot get it to work... it seems to connect fine but no internet connection on client machines....

Have you tried to chnage to English to doublecheck is not just an issue with the localised language?
