Brume 3 (GL-MT5000) High-Speed VPN Security Gateway

I have not used that specific model but fwiw, I have been using their older GL-MT1300 since 2021 and have had no issues with it. I won't hesitate to buy one of their newer devices when the time comes.

I have one Brume 2 (GL-MT2500A) used for VPN exit point in another country. Works with no hiccups for about 1 year or so. Software is perhaps similar, OpenWrt based. Brume 3 makes much more sense with 3x 2.5GbE ports. Mine has 1x 2.5GbE + 1x GbE ports and I have no idea why. The ISP I use is under Gigabit and it doesn't matter for my use case, but the idea of single 2.5GbE port going nowhere is awesome. 😀

Something to be aware of for prospective buyers.

The device most likely has some switch inside. I don't see this as a problem unless confirmed the uplink to the extra LAN port is limited to Gigabit. Quite obviously WAN-LAN throughput can't go above aggregated throughput on LAN ports regardless of their number. 🤔
