2 questions:

1. I have the option set Redirect webui access to router.asus.com but it is not redirected to use httpS - only http, can I force it to go to httpS://router.asus.com or even can i manually modify the configuration file to redirect to httpS://user.ascomm.com ?

2. I already have a Lets Encrypt SSL installed for user.asuscomm.com and the certificate is valid and all good...so if i visit httpS://router.asus.com it says invalid certificate because the certificate is issued for user.asuscomm.com, can I keep this certificate and also have another certificate used for httpS://router.asus.com ?

Did you find a solution to this? I am wondering the same thing. I do not know if this could be a vulnerability but definitely piece of mind if there is no warning.

You can't, because router.asus.com is not a public hostname, and you don't control the asus.com domain either. You will have to manage your own CA to be able to cover it (assuming the asus.com domain doesn't have DNS entries restricting which CA is allowed to issue certificates for that domain).

Thank you for the reply Merlin! Ideally I want to set my DDNS server for local access only but unfortunately I did not know of merlin magic until after I went and got an AX82 and came looking for answers here. I will direct my further questions regarding the DDNS to the asuswrt forum, but hopefully see you back here someday!

Think i used pixelserv-tls to create cert for webgui and DDNS
Think this script is available thru amtm also.
Pixelserv-tls is normally installed with Diversion but can be installed via entware also i think.
