Dual wireless backhaul for 2 x AC5300?

I'm running Aimesh with 2 x AC5300 routers with a wireless backhaul on the 5GHz-2 band configured. Firmware is Merlin 384.19 on both routers.

For anyone else with a similar config, do you see a connection on the 2.4GHZ band from your Aimesh router in addition to your backhaul on 5Ghz? Does anyone know what it is used for?

My 2xRT-AC86U AiMesh also has 2.4 and 5.0 backhauls. It's a feature. Presumably, if one fails, the other one takes over.
