I have a FlashAir W-04 that will connect over wireless to a Netgear router but it won't connect correctly to to AC88U. When I power on the Flash-Air, in the router log I see:
Jan 4 16:39:37 dnsmasq-dhcp[16515]: DHCPOFFER(br0) 192.168.1.13 ec:21:e5:95:39:c2
Jan 4 16:39:44 dnsmasq-dhcp[16515]: DHCPDISCOVER(br0) ec:21:e5:95:39:c2
Jan 4 16:39:44 dnsmasq-dhcp[16515]: DHCPOFFER(br0) 192.168.1.13 ec:21:e5:95:39:c2
Jan 4 16:39:46 dnsmasq-dhcp[16515]: DHCPDISCOVER(br0) ec:21:e5:95:39:c2
Jan 4 16:39:46 dnsmasq-dhcp[16515]: DHCPOFFER(br0) 192.168.1.13 ec:21:e5:95:39:c2
This repeats every 2 seconds.

If I change any wireless setting in the AC88U and hit apply (in order to restart wireless without rebooting the entire router), as long as the Flash-Air is powered on, it will connect as expected:

I tried setting the Flash-Air card up for a static IP address but that didn't work. Any ideas what might be unique to the Asus router that this device can connect to Netgear but not Asus?

These are wireless settings in AC88:
Band 2.4GHz
Hide SSID No
Wireless Mode Auto
Optimized for Xbox Not checked
b/g Protection Checked
Channel bandwidth 20/40MHz
Control Channel Auto Current Control Channel: 7
Extension Channel Auto
Authentication Method WPA2-Personal
WPA Encryption AES
Protected Management Frames Disable
Group Key Rotation Interval 3600

These are the settings on old Netgear that it will connect to:
Mode: Up to 270Mbps at 5GHz & 54bps at 2.4GHz
11N Channel: 44/5.220GHz
11G Channel Auto
Security: WPA2-PSK[AES]

First thought that comes to mind is to reset the card (via iOS/Android app) - on the Asus, try setting the control/primary channel to Ch6, disable AirTime Fairness (does 88U have this function?), and try setting channel bandwidth to 20MHz only...

The FlashAir is a neat little device - similar in concept to a PQi card I had sometime back, where the PQi card actually had a custom OpenWRT router distro embedded inside...

SOLVED. sfx2000- You are my new best friend. I owe you a beer. I disabled AirTime Fairness and the FlashAir now connects right away. Thanks!!
