What you're doing wrong, iMHO, is using the dreaded 3602 build.

Find the latest official firmware (which I believe is 3626) or better yet, switch to Merlin's latest build, or John's 374.xx fork.

The official firmware is at this link: http://www.asus.com/us/Networking/RTAC66U/HelpDesk_Download/

But get rid of the 3602 firmware first and then come back and tell us how your AC66U performs.

Also, btw, I noted that it looks like you may have downloaded the version for the N66U, not the AC66U (based on the first of these lines):

Dec 31 18:00:12 kernel: Build_for__asus_n66u_2011-10-27_U86_r187446_b122
Dec 31 18:00:15 kernel: wlc_phy_cal_init_acphy: NOT Implemented
Dec 31 18:00:15 stop_nat_rules: apply the redirect_rules!
Dec 31 18:00:15 WAN Connection: ISP's DHCP did not function properly.
Dec 31 18:00:19 dnsmasq[340]: warning: interface ppp1* does not currently exist

Not that it really matters because just about everyone who has used the 3602 firmware has complained that it either causes their 5ghz to completely disappear or that it causes disconnects.

One other tip: Be sure that your client devices are using the correct drivers too. Wrong client drivers can have the same effect, i.e., dropped connections.

Awesome thanks! WOW did not know I used the N series firmware.. Geeze I'm an idiot.. I will do that ASAP. Can you link me to merlins build? Thanks again.
