Please help:ASUS AXE16000 Router won’t give out 2gb internet speed through Ethernet nor WiFi.

Hi, guys
I hope anyone can help me fix a problem I have with my ASUS AXE16000 router I recently bought from Amazon. The problem I have is that the router won’t give out the internet plan I’m paying, which I pay for glo fiber 2gb internet plan. I set it up by plugging it in the ONT to the router via Ethernet port on WAN. After, I set up the router as normal but when testing the the speed on Laptop via Ethernet and phone via WiFi, I don’t get what the internet speed I should be getting.
I’ve tried:
1.Reboot/factory rest 3 times
2. I’ve withdrawn the privacy stuff on the routers settings
3.disable Aiprotection
4.changed primary WAN port to the 10g port and 1 of the LAN ports
5.i’ve turned off 5g-2 and DFS channel and 160MHz bandwidth
6. Turned off Traffic Analyser

I’ve done everything and I can’t fix it
PLEASE HELP!!! I’ve also done a speed test on the ASUS router and it’s giving 2gb down and Up

The first screenshot shows Gigabit connection between the router and the client, as expected. The second screenshot is perhaps from AX mobile client with 80MHz channel support, as expected. What are the clients you test with? For >Gigabit you need wired client with 2.5GbE NIC and wireless client with 160MHz support. Wi-Fi is not guaranteed, it's shared with whatever else is using the same channels.

1.I’ve only tested it through router to Laptop through Ethernet
2.Router to PS5 through Ethernet cable
I’ve only tested on a phone and a laptop and PS5
I’ve even bought new cat cables but still the same

Your PS5 has Gigabit port, your laptop perhaps too. They are limited to 940Mbps. A phone means nothing. Phones/tablets don't need anything above Gigabit anyway. You just paid more for an older (early 2022 release) gaming spider and pay more monthly for an ISP plan you don't really need or can't really use. Asus and the ISP are happy. It's a common marketing trap. Also called upselling.

Your PS5 has Gigabit port, your laptop perhaps too. They are limited to 940Mbps. A phone means nothing. Phones/tablets don't need anything above Gigabit anyway. You just paid more for an older (early 2022 release) gaming spider and pay more monthly for an ISP plan you can't really use. Asus and the ISP are happy. It's a common marketing trap on the consumer market.

Aw man, I didn’t know that I thought because the ASUS router has a 2.5/1GE port it could push out 2gb or maybe something a little above or close to 2gb. Honestly, I just bought it and if that’s the case I would rather return it, since that’s the case. I’m wondering what would you recommend? I like game a lot and live stream, so I just wanted a router that could handle that. Also thank you so much for your help I really appreciate taking the time to help me out.

You can keep the router if you like it, but you have to set some more realistic expectations. As mentioned above - >Gigabit speeds only to wired clients with 2.5GbE Ethernet port and to wireless clients with 160MHz wide channel support (5GHz band, not guaranteed, requires DFS) or Wi-Fi 6E* support (6GHz band, shorter range). Gaming a lot - do it wired only. Your fiber ISP is good, but you perhaps don't need to pay for 2Gbps plan. Gaming doesn't need bandwidth, it needs low latency. All fiber plans offer low latency.

Your user experience will be about the same with much cheaper and popular GT-AX6000 model. It's also a "gaming" marketed model with 2x 2.5GbE ports for WAN and LAN. ROG logos, RGB lights, red accents and everything (networking unrelated) gamers want to have.

* - if you have VR set keep GT-AXE16000 router. The extra radios may come handy for dedicated to VR wireless channel.

Dang it, but do you think the internet speed I’m getting on my ps5 good enough? Curious hmm I don’t know much of tech thank you for you’re help tho
