Where is that setting under? I don't see it? On a side note I see Wi-Fi Agile Multiband or maybe I missed it before. Should this be enabled?
It’s under Wireless (on the left side bar) > Professional (on the top tabs)

Winfi lite on Windows 10 app store. Free and works decent. Iirc rmerlin made a thread about it a while back.

Ofdma was enabled by default for me.
Had to manually enable the WiFi agile multi and.

Thanks mate! It’s not on the windows App Store anymore, so I dug around and found it on his website. “It’s A Great piece of software! Thanks for sharing (=

Been running with the new firmware 24 hours now and I have to say things are looking a lot better for me. Nice update.

Router seems to be having issues with new firmware for me

@XFalconX So it seems that your router is displaying same WAN dis-connectivity issue like my RT-AX88U did on latest firmware. We are the beta testers and guinea pigs.

It self corrected after I rebooted modem and routers

But not sure what happened

Also why is 5ghz band 2 occupied in AI mesh when I have it hardwired??? Makes no sense

Exact same symptoms here on all my RT-AX88Us.

Hey guys,
New guy here and I got a ?

I got an ax11000 and the ac68u. I have them set up via aimesh. My ? Is I currently have it set up with a wired backhaul . When I speed test connected to on both nodes I’m pulled 200 Mbps which is my internet speed. If I disconnect the Ethernet and use aimesh wirelessly. On the AX11000 I get 200mbps . Then in the 68u I legit go from 200 Mbps to 60 Mbps. ? I have tried to moved the 68u close even right next to it and still the speed wireless is at 60 once I connect the Ethernet it’s fine

That is same as ax88u. That is one reason I return ax88u and get gt 5300
I reverted to firmware 6436 and currently there is zero problem affecting me apart from Let's Encrypt certificate. But I had made backup copy of the certificate when I was on latest firmware. Downgraded back to 6436 and copied my backed up certificate files to the correct folder through WinSCP ssh access and fixed the problem myself. No need to return such an excellent router and replace it with inferior product.

How can u revert back? I think I might need to as well or return it , have till 1/31 to return back to Amazon

If you use Let's Encrypt certificate, before downgrading, export your certificate files to your PC from DDNS page of the router.
Download 6436 firmware for RT-AX88U from here
Unzip it to a folder and open router webpage in a browser and in firmware upgrade page lick on upload and select the firmware file. Let it perform downgrade. Also please reset your router using WPS button trick. Set it up as new and it should resolve your wifi problems.

my first post.

bought this GT-AZ11000 brick in December as an upgrade from my Netgear XR500 (which kept losing internet connection every day.) Now this one is doing just the same , if not worse than the XR500!

Updated firmware on the GT-AX11000 straight out of the box, next day no internet connection wired or wireless ? had to keep rebooting it daily (i even set it to reboot itself 3 times a week and it still manages to lose internet on the days its not rebooted!). Also the wifi range was abysmal! Im on an 80meg line and just 20 ft away from this coat-hanger antenna'd router could only provide 8mbps ! pathetic!

Updated to newest firmware as of 21 jan 2020, thinking this would cure all my issues, sadly no! just woke this am to discover once again, no internet access wired/wifi. Must check if i can still return this paperweight to Amazon!.

could someone please tell me what the most reliable router is that would have some of the features of the GT-AX11000 ?

So far, ive googled all of the top 10 gaming routers for "dropping connection" and EVERY one of them seems to do it, so to me there is no reliable router out there at all ? Please tell me there is one at least ??

thanks

No offence intended, but for multiple routers to be providing poor speeds and dropouts of internet connectivity, I'd be looking into the modem/isp side of the connection for issues rather than routers.
Are the modems set to do pppoe or just double nat off the isp modem?

Poor speed isn't the issue, WiFi Range is. Compared to a £20 BTHH router i have, the HH blows the GT out of the water in range.... ? Why ?

There are no disconnections on the modem, i've been using an unlocked HG612 Openreach modem (two of these in fact) and have been monitoring dsl stats for months, and not once has the line dropped. The router is just losing connection both wired and wifi, forcing a reboot which temporarily remedies the issue (for a few hours).

The router connection is done via PPPoE to the modem.

Google the top 10 gaming routers for "keeps losing connection", it seems they ALL do it....

Just because the line doesn't drop, doesn't mean that the pppoe login won't drop, what mtu are you using on the wan port?

When you say wired connection stops working, you mean unable to login to the router, or devices can't talk to each other over the lan?

As for WiFi speed, sounds like your wifi setup is operating at 20mhz width on all bands, check the wifi config pics I posted up above in this thread, using AC & AX cards I'm frequently copying from my NAS box exceeding GB ethernet link speeds to multiple clients. (Not saying this router is perect, nothing ever is, but speed for wifi is not one of them)

MTU is 1492 for BT Internet ISP

when i lose connection the lan still works normally, but all devices lose internet connection permanently until router is rebooted.

how do i check for pppoe drops ?

on the asus, when the connection drops, check in the logs in system tools.
Also, does the router claim to still have a wan address or does it show as disconnected?

One more thing to try as you've mentioned BT and the uptime being in the months range. When you get chance, power off the HG612 for 30 minutes. 30 minutes will cause the bt exchange to recognise an inactive line and during this time the network controller is able to update its config and reset the line to a clean state, then give it another go. Stale vdsl connections aren't always the best connection unfortunately.

Thanks, but wont powering off the modem trigger a DLM on my line reducing my speed for 10 days ?

im not 100% sure about the Disconnected status, i think it does say that off the top of my head.

here is my log , i think it went down around 5am (SEE RED TEXT);

My first question is, wtf ? May 5 05:05:28 pppd[1436]: peer from calling number F8:13:08:41:CE:19 authorized . F8:13:08:41:CE:19 is a Nokia device ? I have no nokia devices. Was i hacked ?

Clearly , the date and time was also wrong in the logs ? May 5th ? After reboot at 7:45 this am , this corrected itself ...?

Also, 172.16.11.110 is from (see ip lookup below) again was i being hacked ? ;

and even though it says, May 5 05:05:31 WAN Connection: WAN was restored. I still had to reboot the router at 7:45 to get Internet back ?

This happened to me yesterday with the same date and that’s exactly when I lost internet, very strange and was beyond my understanding. I rebooted everything and then it self corrected after few minutes
