RT-AC68U dropped all wifi clients

interconnect

Occasional Visitor
Just recently got a RT-AC68U and things have been good so far. Today, the router dropped all clients (multiple iPhones and and iPad). The clients were unable to reconnect until the router was rebooted. I'm running the stock ASUS firmware, latest version 3.0.0.4.380_1031. All clients are on 5ghz band, not very distant and are probably 5-15m away from the router, through one wall or one floor. Have been getting great signal on all of them. Pretty much standard config except for adding some port forwards, setting 2.4 ghz to N only, turned off NAT acceleration (had slow wired speeds).

Anyone have an ideas or seen this before?

I am not on the latest firmware but the one previous. Since installing it in November I have had 4 such incidents including the loss of wired access to the internet. I can see all clients fine but nothing outside the house and the Assus apps cannot find the router over the internet, worked fine before that update. A reboot restores operation but with no clue as to what happened except the system log stops at December 28th prior to the reboot entries. When I saw your post about a new version I was hoping that this could fix the issue. Do you have any wired clients? How are they working?

My issue didn't effect wired clients. All my wifi clients were dropped and disconnected and they could not reconnect. I have wired clients and they work fine. I ended up putting on Merlin's firmware, 378.56_2 and so far so good. It may be an issue with ASUS's new wireless driver that was implemented in 3.0.0.4.380.1031
