Dear all,

When I want to use the Asus BRT-AC828 for setting up as VPN client with OpenVPN to a VPN provider. The speed is drasticly slow when I also want to download something from a newsgroup. However if I look at the CPU% uses, it seems that only totaly 50% of the 2 x 1.700 cores are being used (Core 1 31% and Core 19%) (This means around the 25/30% of total CPU) around that amount. To give you an impression when downloading with VPN Client on router the speed is 4.000-5.000 KB/s, when doing the same with a Windows VPN Software, I can download with a speed of 14.000 - 15.000 KB/s. Without any VPN, than I get 18.500KB/s.

Can it be that Asus is limited those CPU speed this much? And if so, is there an option/way to unlock those CPU's?

And another question, will this Merlin will also be available for the BRT-AC828?

Thanks,
Hans
