try pointing the vpn client to a different server. or contact your vpn provider. i speedtest against 3 servers via nordvpn without issue. your vpn provider doesn't like speedtest.net for some reason/.
Well, whitelisting speedtest dot net didn't work, so I'm back at square one. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but same thing. There wasn't any file to delete when I uninstalled it though, as in:

RT-AC86U with Merlin 314.15, RT-AC68U aimesh node with same f/w, diversion, uidivstats, skynet, scribe, uiscribe,
OpenVPN for select clients, conmon, spdMerlin, scmerlin, nsrum

Choose an option: z

Anyway, it is puzzling to me, but I said I was going to quit bothering you guys, so I am, unless I find out what is going on. I will have to say what. Maybe it will fix itself?

Quick question to @Jack Yaz: would you expect the speedtest.net tests this script runs to respect configured QoS limits? I'm guessing this is not specific to the plugin itself :) rather, said differently: is network traffic originating from processes on the router itself constrained by the same QoS limits as client traffic passing through the router?

My experience is that the upload is constrained, but the download isn't. ie. looking at my upload graphs I can clearly see the point in time I enabled QoS, but the download graphs are still showing full speed. Which is strange. Then again, I found this out while discovering QoS seems to be a bit broken overall, see https://www.snbforums.com/threads/is-qos-broken.62798/

I have uninstalled it for now until I can figure out how to make it work properly. One thought, Since I have the VPN configured for strict policy rules for the tunnel, would I need to add the router itself to run the speed test through it? Seems kinda silly in a way, but maybe worth asking?

Thanks. Interesting, so potentially a "30 second blip" every half an hour on an otherwise QoS-managed network.. something for users to be aware of perhaps.
Personally, I find this add-on of most value to track bandwidth availability over time (and in this case actually advantageous for it not to be caught up in QoS limits!) - ie. to spot issues/trends with my ISP connection - however I'm now thinking I don't really need 48 data points a day but instead might schedule it to run for a period of a number of hours overnight (ie. when the network is not busy, aiding both any impact on users and accuracy of results).
Again, thanks.

If you have a data cap all the tests add up over a day and even quicker if you are also testing VPN tunnels also.

Also I turn off the tests turning prime video viewing time to avoid any streaming issues.

contact your vpn provider
I will at your bidding, but I have used the Speedtest app on the vpn at both the router level and the client level on different clients many times without blocking, but this isn't my area of expertise. Thanks for the help.

IT'S WORKING NOW! I'm posting this for others that may have this problem.
I found a switch in my VPN settings turned on for "Unlock Streaming" and the help file said it might break non-tls traffic on port 443. I turned it off, installed spdMerlin again, and it is working correctly. I don't remember turning on that switch, but it is possible, or that may have been the default, I'm not sure.
Now I will eat a little more crow when Windscribe contacts me about the support ticket I filled out, but it tastes pretty good!
Thanks again,
jts

Once upon a time I was going to offer an option to plumb the results of a WAN test into the QoS settings, e.g. 0.95 x result
But never got round to it
For the record, no complaints from me as-is whatsoever - I think this is a great plugin that adds value - my curiosity was purely understanding how it works/interacts with QoS to allow me to schedule and interpret the results accordingly. Keep up the good work, thanks.

The result it sill not ok. Please, what should I do next?

I notice you mentioned the old entware-ng repo. Any particular reason to use that? It's unsupported and you should upgrade to the current/stable entware.

Yes, I am on latest entware. II did the update, but forgot because after update, the folder name remained entware-NG.

Please, could be because I have entware installed?
Thank you!

Do you have amtm installed? If so, upgrade all entware packages via amtm. If not, run

Code:
opkg update && opkg upgrade && opkg update && opkg upgrade
(to make sure using current entware)

then try my command again. Please post the output of my command

Hi again,

All are working fine.
And now tried to add Skynet Firewall. All are good also, but now, when I use spdMerlin I obtain smaller speed with about 60 Mbps. While Skynet is disabled, the speed is back to normal. Also, I tried to test directly from a local machine connected to my AC88U router. From local computers connected to router, from browser, the speed is not affected by Skynet.

Please, any of you are dealing with this situation? It is normal?
Logically speaking, I think is the CPU from router (overloading). But is strage, the upload is not affected. I meantion that the upload contractual speed is smaller (150 Mbps) than download (300 Mbps).

Edit1: or could it be that both are installed on external USB 2.0 storage?

Thank you. All the best!
