Tldr; dlna boots off tv after ram usage gets too high. Would Asus-wrt merlin help with this issue?
I don't want to potentially brick my router if the new firmware doesn't help.
So I was using my cellspot router as a dlna server to stream videos to my samsung smart tv using an ethernet cable, but every few of minutes (10-15+ on avg) my television would tell me that the media server disconnected and boot me off. I would then have to reopen the connection to watch the video.
I figured it might be a usb problem, so I changed usb drives but I continued to get the same issue. I looked online, but there is not much information regarding this issue. I found a couple forums suggesting to use a static IP for the TV and enabling IGMP snooping etc. All of which I tried, but no success. Here are the logs around when the disconnects happen:
RAM usage slowly seems to climb to 100% before booting the television off:
