My VDSL2 ISP requires a VLAN in their provided modem/router. I want to put the modem/router in transparent bridge mode and provide the PPPoE info in my ASUS router. Is there a way to specify a VLAN id for the WAN port or am I forced to use (waste) one of the LAN ports and configure it as the WAN port?

Which Asus router are you intending to use with VDSL2 capabilities? I don't think there is (a current one) with such.

Yes. Go to LAN - IPTV, select the manual ISP setting and then enter the VID.
Thanks for this @ColinTaylor !

And to L&LD. I'll be using a RT-AX86U connected to my modem/router which will be set to "Transparent Bridge" mode so my connection info like UID/Password for my DSL comes from the ASUS router, I just didn't see where to set the VLAN tag. ColinTaylor covered that as I see I can specify a VLAN for the Internet connection (WAN Port).
