Been having a lot of problems with Windows laptops keep on dropping internet connections with the Vodafone Ultra Hub. They are all connected to the wi-fi but come up with "no internet" errors.

We have five laptops all of different makes and they all do this, sometimes it is every few minutes and sometimes it lasts for an hour or more. The laptops are windows 10 & 11 all have the latest wifi card drivers. This issue doesn't seem to impact iphone or ipads.

Vodafone insist there is nothing wrong with the router, despite the fact that if I plug in my old Vodafone router everything works ok.

Are these error log entries significant from the router?

Did the Ultra Hub come from Vodafone as part of your service?

Have you tried a reset as they seem to have provisioned you with settings for the old router?

That is a weird one. I've used their THG3000 (bad bad router) but I generally stick with my asus.
I know Vodafone like to dumb-down their routers but is there enough access on that one to disable wifi6 just for a test

Does it happen if you connect the laptops via Ethernet?

And when the Windows machines can't connect, do the iPhones and iPads remain connected to the internet?

No they work fine via Ethernet, it’s only wireless. And 99% of the time iPhones and iPads are unaffected.

I don't see any wireless messages in that log.
The Ultra Hub is a 6E router. Could be a compatibility issue. Have you tried enabling Compatibility Mode?

Yes tried compatibility mode, makes no difference.. Isn’t the bottom line below a driver issue?

I think this is a different log than the first one posted. Where are these logs coming from?

Is there a way to change the Wi-Fi settings of this Hub to something standard like Ch.36 at 80MHz? If some of the devices have issues it may be the router chasing better channel and changing channels from 36-48 to lower DFS 52-64. I've seen this happening and some devices refuse to re-connect.

There is no way to change channels or even disable different bands… it’s so locked down

This is Vodafone UK Broadband, and they figure if we can't mess with the settings then we won't need customer support.
Disconnect the WAN and reset the router. When the router's rebooted login and a lot more setting will be available. Change what you need then plug the WAN back in.
