I have an RT-N66U running Merlins 374.42 fw. My log file is full of these:

Oct 20 17:39:59 pppd[786]: Timeout waiting for PADO packets
Oct 20 17:41:14 pppd[786]: Timeout waiting for PADO packets
Oct 20 17:42:29 pppd[786]: Timeout waiting for PADO packets
Oct 20 17:43:44 pppd[786]: Timeout waiting for PADO packets
Oct 20 17:44:59 pppd[786]: Timeout waiting for PADO packets

As you can see they are only a minute apart so they take up most of the log file. Can anyone advise me as to what may be causing this and how I can track it down and fix it?

At this moment i can say only one.
Something wrong with PPPoe Connection.

First of All Upgrade FW to latest non beta version.
Second You can ask your ISP to trace why PADO is timeout.

PAD0 timeouts usually indicate an issue with the modem or the phone line/ DSLAM. It means the PPPoE client is unable to talk with your ISP's services.

Thanks everyone. I don't know if another FW upgrade will make any difference but I will try it later in the week. These logs have been appearing ever since I switched to using a Sierra 320U 4g modem to access a 3g Mobile Broadband service. It works fine, but I have to admit it seems to use more data than expected. Is it possible these PADO Timeouts are partly responsible? Could there be something wrong with my connection settings, even though it works fine?
