Windows 7 won't recognize HD

I swapped out my PS3 HD from a 60GB to a 500GB. I put the 60GB in a case and plugged it into my laptop. It recognizes it in device manager but it won't show up in MY COMPUTER so I can not format it. In device manager the option to format it doesn't show up. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
