zenwifi xt8 wireless mesh downgrade firmware steps?

Does anyone know the official formula for downgrading firmware with this unit?

Can i simply point the local web interface to the old firmware and hit update?
Or is there more to it. I cant seem to find any info.

Will settings be preserved? (Or back them up and restore them?)

Ok, i thought i had read somewhere (cant find), that a factory reset was needed after a downgrade and all settings manually reentered (i have quite a few settings) though?

Yes, those steps would be ideal if you are trying to troubleshoot. But if simply flashing the firmware you want works, then just accept your good fortune and enjoy the stability of the older firmware.
