Hi,
I like the synology GUI and have a 2 drive unit which has been chugging away for years. But since upgrading to OSX Mavericks I took a huge performance hit. Have tried connecting through CIFS since Im convinced SMB is more or less broken. Recently, I made a few NFS shares (modifying to insecure) and this seems to work rather well although I cant find a recent way to automount NFS volume mounting in OSX. I like my apple and I like my Synology GUI. Anyone out there find a way to make them play nice with good throughput. Mostly Im using XBMC on a macmini and occasionally editing photos with picassa on an imac.
Thanks,
