New Around Here
I'm a little at a lose here with WHS.
I have 2 separate networks with internet connections which are hooked
up to a Win2kPro machine with 2 nics just for data sharing. ( no bridge )
This setup works fine and I want to keep the 2 Networks separate.
I build a WHS and want to hook it up the same way like the Win2kpro machine
( 2 nics ) Just for data sharing and backups. What works perfectly
for my older server does not with WHS. It sees only one network when I unplug
one the other appears. I might have missed something but so far didn't figure out
what it might be. Like I said I don't want to do anything fancy. Just sharing
data and backup connected PCs.

any ideas are welcome.

You might want to look at this link, but, no WHS doesn't do what you want.

Thanks Ben,
I remember coming across this link.
I have it working now. Got one new router ( probably not needed )
and setup 2 new networks 192.168.1.x and 192.168.2.x
Maybe WHS is more picky or I was lucky the time before.
I can access WHS from both networks now like my older one.
Next one is going to be FreeBSD. ;)

Just remember that WHS is built on top of Windows Server 2003. So when it comes down to it you should be able to do anything that Windows Server can. The problem is if the WHS software will work with any changes you make. For example by default WHS does not do RAID but technically you could use a RAID card as Windows Server supports them. But that does not mean you can actually get a RAID setup to work correctly with the WHS software.

Thanks Roush ,
I was not sure which functions they have disabled in WHS vs 2003 Server.
If you look at their msg board usually they say only 1 NIC is supported.
They only drive I use raid is the system drive which I have mirrored because
I really dislike to reinstall the OS when you have it working they way you want.
