I'm on the latest Merlin 384.12 and when I add the icons to the "+", it shows up and after hitting Apply, it shows a broken graphic icon, like it's not there or didn't upload. Does this still work?

It does for me. I have added about 10 icons in the last couple years, so they persist across many Merlin versions. One for a new wifi scale a few days back on my AC86U with 384.12.

Hmmm...I have an RT-AC68U as well but a broken graphic, just like @lordtech . Wonder if it's a permission issue on the folder it's saving the graphic to?

Thanks for that @Butterfly Bones . My permissions on the usericon folder looks correct but of course I don't have the <MAC>.log files since it's not pointing to any icons. When you "+" a device icon, it should store it here, correct? My device icons are 96x96 and about 2K-4K. Even tried some from this thread. Sigh...

I think what you say sounds right, clicking the "+" device icon. I'm not positive as it has always just worked for me, so I had no need to troubleshoot more. Most of my additional icons are from this thread and I just use whatever size they are.

I only know that folder since I am methodical about backups of my router configs and add ons, so I search the entire router for the name "icon" as a file name or folder name and that /jffs/usericon is all that I found. Opening one of the "log" files confirmed it is a
Code:
data:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAA....
It is a very long coded name, over 50 characters. the "data:image/base64" confirms for me.

Thanks for verifying for me. Hopefully I'll figure this out. Short of factory reset.
Hi xMaN73, if you find out how to fix please share it ;)

SOLVED! Ok, it is dependent on your browser and if you allow javascript plug-in to run. I was using Brave Chromium Browser and it was blocking the javascript from running once I upload the device icon (I see it) but when I APPLY it, it shows a broken icon and doesn't make a <MAC>.log file in /jffs/usericon.

I used Google Chrome Browser (Java enabled) and MS Edge Browser and both worked once I hit the APPLY button. I checked the /jffs/usericon folder and my xxxxxxxxxxxx.log file was in there. Hopefully this helps anyone out there!

Anybody have some icons for Leviton or WeMo Smart Plugs, Rachio Sprinkler Controllers, or MyQ (Chamberlain) Garage Door Openers?

Here are a few icons:
