If any of you still use IRC (irc.freenode.net #asuswrt), I compiled BitchX for asus 64bit routers. I use screen and the client to keep irc always up. Needs Entware and libncurses.
"opkg install libncurses"
Binary is here https://github.com/LiveWire1968/Merlin-BitchX/blob/main/BitchX
Also a small script that checks if BitchX is already running in screen, if so connects to it, if not starts one....
"opkg install screen"
If anyone needs one for a older router, Im sure i can compile one easy enough.

You can add the following to a startup script.
echo "export IRCNICK=Nickname" >> /root/.profile
echo "export IRCSERVER=irc.freenode.net" >>/root/.profile
For basic setup.

Geeking old school

If you guys think this could be popular, you could ask the Entware guys to add it to Entware. They compile for quite a few architectures/machines.

Here is a link to the github page where you can make the request:

I think actual irc users is pretty slim nowadays, and irssi is available on entware (but ive never liked). but thanks for the link
