Do the logs tell you anything? Merlin can't possibly fix anything - if it is in his control - without details. Alpha testing is meant to help a developer nail down issues. Can't do that without logs and details.

Updated my routers to beta2 with no problem.
0 days 22 hour(s) 1 minute(s) 54 seconds

Had to reboot master 2.4GHz as acting weird.
After that it's working just fine.

Thank you!
Every time router is rebooted or manually reboot SSD disk is unmounted have to unplug and plug in to have it to mount again.
Have you same behaving as me?

I tried beta 2 a couple of times this week. Worked well except the DDNS WAN IP and hostname verification seemed that it didn't work. My WAN DHCP lease time is 15 minutes and since the switch from Centurylink to Brightspeed the WAN IP address seems to change every tome I make a router change and often several times a day. Asus firmware DDNS and WAN IP and hostname verification works well.

Next time it happens, try this;

echo "- - -" > /sys/class/scsi_host/host<n>/scan --> where <n> is the host number.

On my AX88U, after reboot, the host<n> is usually host0, but sometimes it throws me a host1.

I have tested it with a USB key that I have that I know is flaky and unmounts on me.

I know it is not a solution that is ideal, but worse case, you could try testing for a mounted drive, and if fails, force a hotplug rescan. Call it from services-start maybe??

WAN issues should now be resolved. It's a bug in the GPL archive for HND 5.04 models where the ethctl userspace tool is not properly added to the firmware, causing the switch to not being properly configured. The fix will be included in beta 3.

Still smooth sailing:

All is working as expected. Even Bandwidth Monitor is working without Apps analysis and without accepting policy...
Now I'm looking forward to beta_3!

@RMerlin: Many thanks for your great support!

Well, waiting then for B3.

I've been running Beta2 since it came out but last night there was a problem.

My WAN connection was down for about 7 minutes, when it returned it had obtained a new IP address but the DDNS did not get updated. It has always worked fine on previous releases (But I don't think it was tested under Beta1).

I went to the WAN/DDNS page and hit 'Apply' and it was then updated correctly.

@RMerlin - I noticed you mentioned a fix to the WAN code a few posts above, is this the same thing?

Probably not related to this beta, but I've had a bit of a fight to keep my Brother HL-2350DW wireless printer connected to my 2.4Ghz network. It will eventually just keep disconnecting/reconnecting and you can't print to it. I think I've figured it out though - disabled 'deep sleep' mode on the printer and set a static IP, seems to be working so far.

No, I haven't had time to look into the DDNS issues yet.

I set the WAN IP and hostname verification to 30 minutes and it seems to be OK.

Is that a new setting that needs to be configured?
Mine is switched off, but the DDNS update has always worked in the past.
Pretty much instantly.

Had to take beta 2 both off my AX86U's terrible lag in games, frequently disconnections from ISP and and sluggish browsing.

Falshed back to retail release of Merln and is now back to normality.

Help.. like my post previously.. 2 xt12’s one wired backhaul… when i update man xt12 unit to this beta all ok.. i then update the node , it updates but everything that links through it dies… i have to revert to 388.2.2 for the node and all works again.

Why is this happening with these beta’s i cannot even access the xt12 node to check operation mode.. do ‘t really want to disconnect.. factory reset and hard wire clise to main unit on a whim as its a ball ache.. any i sight welcome

Thx

You are better off running Asus firmware on the nodes

Not a new setting but something you can turn on to insure the hostname is kept up to date.
