Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.4 Beta is now available

There was an updated Firmware for the AiMesh router an Asus RT-AX-86u. I updated the firmware for it, but it's still telling me there is a new Firmware ("Bell" at upper top right still flashing). Cleared cache, all that.

Thanks
What does it say after you click check update on the firmware update page? Does it say "The router's current firmware is the latest version."?

It said the firmware is the latest, but it would still say (the "bell" thing keep flashing) there was an update. Well I have no idea, but it seems to have somehow as by magic fixed itself.

Thanks

Is this correct? When I choose Control D 1 (privacy protection) under ipv4 I get the following. I see the same for the Network Secutrity ones as well. The Family Friendly ones show the correct ipv4 address though.

I can cofirm the mishap!

Just to throw my hat in the ring, dirty upgrade on RT-AX86u Pro from 3004_388.8_4 to 3006.102.4-beta3 and it's working flawlessly for me. My setup isn't quite as complex as others of course, but was as smooth as one could ask for. Thanks as always Merlin!!!

On Administration - Firmware Upgrade page in the upper right the "bell" symbol keeps flashing telling the is an updated version of the firmware. I have Beta 3 loaded and the Check for New Firmware is turned off. Even if I do the Check for update it tells me there is no newer version, but the "bell" at top right keeps flashing saying there is. Did not happen with Beta 1 and 2. Have cleared browser cache, reloaded webpage and rebooted router. No change. Have Asus RT-AX86u Pro (Edge browser).
You have AiMesh nodes, they may be the ones reporting the availability of an update.

Router : GTAX6000
Fw : 3006.102 Beta 3
SDN IoT Online schedule still not working for me.
Network remains active and IoT devices still connect after online time has passed.
(Not big deal though but bug still exists)

Suggestion : Asusnat tunnel default setting to Disabled.
Small cosmetic : ":" before "Default"

Upd.
Even with no SDN (IoT) scheduling when routers WiFi turns off (2,4 & 5 bands) when turning on again SDN (IoT) does not starts.
Have to reboot router to restore SDN.

Despite praises for attention to detail earlier, I botched some copy/paste actions when trying to merge these from Asus’ own list. I’ll check this out when I’m back home later today.

Where is it possible to "block internet access" in wifi clients in guest network, I can't find where?

Thanks for your response. I did update the AiMesh node and it was still showing update available. However, after a while it just quit showing update available.

Thanks

You can block per Guest Network Pro Profile Client in the Parental Control > Time Scheduling section. Example attached. Don't see an option offhand to block Internet Access for the entire Profile all at once, at least on the Guest Network Pro IoT Profiles that I'm using.

PS: If the option to block all isn't available one could always using the firewall-start script file option to drop traffic via a script.

I've never found a way to block the Guest Network Pro clients via the Web other than to use the Asus Mobile App to block clients. I tried using your approach of Parental Control > Time Scheduling but it did not block internet access for the GNP client. Perhaps a bug? And for the record once set to Block within Parental Control there was no indicator of internet blocking on the Network Map > Client Status listing. There really should be a UI consistency when it comes to blocking clients, guest or not. Having to jump to the Mobile App or Parental Control for guest management is silly.

UPDATE
Using Parent Control > Time Scheduling does work fine for blocking. Yes, i did update to Beta3 but i think my earlier problem was i was trying to block the wrong MAC during my tests (the phones were using a Randomized MAC as opposed to what was reported in the drop down selection.

okey, So they are moved for some clients to Parental Control!
In the past thart was doing in Network map => Client Status.

I don't want to use parental Control so I have to use iptables istead.
Some thing been better and som worse.

All I can say is that it works for me on a RT-AX86U Pro running 3006.102.4_beta3 as indicated by the prior screen caps posted to my earlier post. The Client Status entry for the Guest Network Pro client shows it clearly marked (via the icon) as disabled as indicated in my prior screen capture. The Guest Network Pro Profiles I have setup (two of them) are IoT. The profile was setup with the option Use same subnet as main network set to disabled so each of the clients gets an IP address in the 192.168.53.x range. I have manually assigned IP addresses for each of the Guest Network Pro profile clients (Advanced Settings > Manually Assign IP around DHCP list). I've tested in on two separate devices connected to the Guest Network Pro profile and the internet is blocked for both of them.

Edit to add: Oh and forgot to add. The two Guest Network IoT profiles are configured for a single WiFi band/SSID. One for 2.4 GHz and one for 5 Ghz.

@RMerlin PR submitted to fix my mistake.

Dirty flashed 3006.102.4_beta3 from beta2 on my RT-BE96U and so far so good! Will keep an eye out for any issues. Thanks as always Merlin!

On a RT-AX86U_PRO, I've done a dirty update from 3004.388.8_4 to 3006.102.4-beta3. Only unexpected thing was needing to reinstall/upgrade nextdns.io (a very good/cheap adblocking dns service). Discovered this when the ads began to show up in mobile games again ;-)

My guest network was largely intact, but yeah, it needs tweaked it if you do this (the old way required a 2.4 and 5g network to be declared separately even if they were the same password, and now that's treated as an invalid configuration.

It also seems to play nicely with an RT-AC86U acting as a mesh node providing the expected disclaimer about not all modes supported on "older models".

So, I have a RT-AX88U Pro running 3004.388.8_4
And an Aimesh RT-AC86U running 3004.386.14_2

So, If I update the AX88U Pro to 3006, with AiMesh still work?
I don't use any guest networks.
It did for me with an 86U_Pro

Thanks. I'll play around with settings to resolve my issue and hopefully spot a pattern. I have yet to update to the latest Beta so ...
