Which is the revision of the problem router, A.1 or A1.1?

Ummm.. Dude... Don't, just don't... Do not use auto channel.. it is the root of all evil and notworkingness of the 5GHz network... Try wifi radar, check least crowder channels (preferably in the <100 range) and select it manually.



Could've tried Virtualbox, WSL or the docker build container...
No problem... I live in a place where the closest wifi from me is 10km away :)

Okay, got the physical label. It says manufactured in 2018 A.1

It is said the lower channels reach further, longer/better coverage...

All works good so far (4 hours) on RT-AX58U_384.16_beta2.
Except that iptables -m recent --reap is an unknown option.
#iptables -m recent --help
.........
--reap Purge entries older then 'seconds'.
Can only be used in conjunction with the seconds option.
.........
Example
#iptables -I FORWARD ! -i br0 -m recent --update --seconds 7200 --rttl --reap --name HoneypotBlock --rsource -m comment --comment "HoneypotBlock Drops forwards" -j DROP
>iptables v1.4.15: unknown option "--reap"

However in most countries the 136/140etc allow for higher transmit power. In canada on my ac88u I get stronger signal from using 140 than I did on 36.

I don't think that is true at least North America, I operate my router on higher channel and get better range than, what you would get in lower channel.

It all depends how much transmit power is allowed in your region. I think depending where you are lower channel may perform better.

mathematically correct due to the relationship between a frequency and its wavelength: as frequency decreases, wavelength increases.
we haven't discussed power yet, though. There are physics involved.

36-64 is limited to max 200mw
100-140 is limited to max 1000mw
155, 159, 163, 167, 172 to max 4000mw

Actual power will dynamically adjusted by radio, how much is usually also depend on type of antenna, Equivalent Isotropically Radiated Power (EIRP) and many more factors.

Well, here I only have from channel 36 to 140... No more channels
 
One question, is it possible to check via Gui or ssh if I'm using the latest wifi driver? Just to make sure ..
