Before I change the setting above from 20 to 25, I had 26MB of free RAM.

Now, after 15 minutes after changing it to 25, I have just under 71MB of free RAM.

I'm sure it will go down to my usual 29 to 26MB in a few hours (because, Linux), but it means that more RAM will be used for routing and other duties too. :)
Remember, unused RAM is wasted RAM. :D

It doesn't make any difference in memory having more hosts per line, it just decreases the file size.

Not using Diversion there, but addn-hosts=/tmp/adblock.hosts is in my dnsmasq config.

I don't think your test is comparable to what Diversion is doing with 1.055M blocked domains. :)

That was using a host file blocking 811469 domains, the exact same way diversion does.
Code:
pc_append "addn-hosts=${DIVERSION_DIR}/list/blacklist" $CONFIG

Sure doesn't look like 811,469 domains listed there. :)

It's a hidden menu entry. Enter b and then dpl (for domains per line) into Diversion and set it to 1.
Then run bu to update the blocking list.
You're welcome.

Tanks man :)

This is very usefull for us -that have use for the old standard in many otherways. Please keep it in newer versions.

@thelonelycoder Just out of curiosity, are you still working on Diversion's Web UI in your free time, or that project is shelved for now?

Still waiting for it's time slot and my motivation to finish it.

Block:

Might solve the problem

Thanks for suggestion but it doesn't work.
Blocking that line results in website not working properly.
Taking a look at the source code, I noticed this:
Code:
<!--Adblock Check-->

    jQuery(document).ready(checkAds());

    function checkAds(){

        function isIE() {
            var ua = window.navigator.userAgent;
            var trident = ua.indexOf('Trident/');
            var edge = ua.indexOf('Edge/');
            var msie = ua.indexOf('MSIE ');
            return Math.max(msie,edge,trident)>0;

        }

        var isIE = isIE();
        var isChrome = /Chrome/.test(navigator.userAgent) && /Google Inc/.test(navigator.vendor) && !isIE;
        var isFireFox = /Firefox/.test(navigator.userAgent);
        var isSafari = /Safari/.test(navigator.userAgent) && /Apple Computer/.test(navigator.vendor);
        var isOneOfThoseBrowsers = [isIE,isChrome,isFireFox,isSafari].indexOf(true)>-1;

        var b = 2;

        //var hasAdsenseBlock = !!$('#adsense').length;
        //var hasShadowDom = (!!$("html")[0].shadowRoot);
        //var headerIsShown = ($(".midHeader").height() > 0 && $(".midHeader").css('display') !== 'none');

        if (window.google_ad_status == 1){

How can this interfere with Diversion?
Thanks

For something that invasive about serving ads you'll probably need to block them via a browser extension, hosts alone won't be enough.

So I use PIA VPN which has its own DNS servers and uses them by default, each one being catered to whatever region VPN IP you connect to. I read that for speed and DNS leak prevention I should keep it as such. I use the most closest local VPN server provided by them (~30 Mi from me or so) but I was wondering if I should keep using PIA's provided DNS server or if I should just switch the option on their VPN client to use "the existing one" aka point to my routers diversion dns based adblocker?

Is there a way to get my diversion back?

This is what I see if I choose Diversion from AMTM or just type Diversion at the prompt.

Hi
New to the forum and I hope this is the right place for questions concerning Diversion.

I have tried searching the forum but seem to be out off luck. If this question has been posted and replayed to earlier pleas point me in the right direction.

I seem to be having problem running some sites while Diversion is active.
For example on some sites some JavaScript doesn't work.
The strange thing is that I don't see anything blocked in the log.
The sites work fine if I disable Diversion.

I'm having trouble with Facebook on the mobile. And I cant click the links on to the products on this site https://www.jula.se/

Could anyone shed some light on this issue?
Thanks in advance.

Im running
NETGEAR R7000 (384.9) with Xwrt-Vortex, Asuswrt-Merlin
Diversion 4.1.1
pixelserv-tls enable
block list medium

You won't be able to get help in this forum since you are running an illegal fork.

https://www.snbforums.com/threads/a...d-forks-on-non-asus-devices-is-illegal.44636/

Asuswrt-Merlin contains numerous proprietary components that are only licensed for legal use on original Asus devices. These include (but are not limited to) components from Asus themselves, Broadcom, Trend Micro and Tuxera. Using any of these components on devices for which they haven't been licensed for is ILLEGAL.

The Asuswrt-Merlin developers will take no responsibility for license violation made by third party or end-users running that software on a non-approved Asus device. Any discussion on these forums about such illegal forks will be deleted.

You won't be able to get help in this forum since you are running an illegal fork.
Discussion about illegal forks is not permitted here but this is a pure Diversion issue.
So if someone has any ideas, please pipe in and let @David Hermansson know how to fix it.
