Dlink DIR-655 and WBR-2310 on same home network?

Can I use these two devices to extend the range of my wireless network (a single SSID)? I would use the 655 as the router and disable the router function on the 2310. Would this kind of setup disable the 655's ability to support 802.11n connections?
